Commissioner's first web chat - was a success
Over 70 people took part in the Commissioner's first web chat which focussed on issues affecting young people in Nottinghamshire. The feedback has been very positive and it is planned to hold more in the future.
The Commissioner and Sgt Debbie Barton spent an hour on-line answering questions surrounding restorative justice, mobile phone theft, how to work with young people and a range of other points.
After the event, Paddy Tipping said: "This was a very successful experiment. I wanted to see whether young people would take the opportunity to talk to me in this way and I was delighted to find that they did. I'm grateful to all those who joined in - we had a very interesting and lively conversation. Young people are our future and they need a voice. They have told me that they enjoy Facebook, Twitter and other web based forums which is why we decided to try a webchat. We learned a lot and hopefully gave a lot too. We will definitely do this again."
