Engaging with communities

Posted: Monday 17th December 2012

It has been another busy week but I am starting to implement changes and engage with communities as planned.

Over the last few days I have made the decision to commission a major research project aimed at strengthening the force’s relationship with the black and ethnic minority community.

I am inviting a panel of experts to bid for the three-month research contract which will examine a range of performance data including BME (black minority ethnic) victim satisfaction rates, recruitment figures within Nottinghamshire Police and the force’s stop and search statistics.

Elsewhere, another highlight for me was attending an engagement event for women at the Mechanics Institute in Nottingham. It was great to hear feedback on my priorities so far, and be supported by my Deputy Chris Cutland to speak directly about our plans around domestic violence and how we are going to address the way victims of crime are treated by police generally.
