This is my first Christmas as your Police and Crime Commissioner and I just wanted to say I know it has been a difficult year and I know there are challenges ahead next year too.
If we all stick together and strive for a city and county that is both cleaner and safer we can each make a positive difference to local communities.
We can be proud of what is being achieved locally. Crime is going down and will continue to go down in the future.
Nottinghamshire is one of the most improving police forces in the country but we need to do more.
I am very keen to work with partners to develop plans to make sure we all feel safe and secure in our homes and on our streets.
I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy 2013. I will be spending time with my family this year – although I have already had a brief panic that my oven was broken! No worries though I was up at 6am one day this week waiting for the electrician to come over and will now be able to cook my turkey as planned! I hope it tastes good!
