My first proposed Police and Crime Plan for Nottinghamshire was put before members of the Police and Crime Panel yesterday (9 Jan) for their consideration - prior to a formal meeting next Tuesday.
This is an exciting time for me as Commissioner and I believe we can achieve positive results in 2013. I would encourage everyone to have a look at the draft plan and let us know if you have any questions or comments. The plan can be found here.
The plan is one of the fundamental elements of my role. Its content - and the resources required to deliver it - is closely linked to the budget for 2013-14 and the amount of council tax paid towards policing by local people. Proposals for the precept and budget will go to the Police and Crime Panel for approval in February.
I have discussed my proposals with Chief Constable Chris Eyre and other partners and I'm confident that I can meet the pledges I made when I was elected.
I hope to make an announcement about recruiting more Police Officers and PCSOs later this month.
