The Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable are seeking an independent person to sit on a Joint Audit and Scrutiny Panel overseeing governance processes across Nottinghamshire Police Service.
The Panel will provide advice to the Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable on the effectiveness of the arrangements in place to ensure quality, and good value local policing. It will also ensure that recommendations from HMIC and other organisations are implemented satisfactorily.
Applicants should have relevant experience of strategic planning, risk and performance management, ideally acquired within senior roles in either the public, third or private sector. They will also be expected to scrutinise financial information and processes andhave knowledge of best governance practice.
Appointments will be for a period of four years, starting June 2019 and it is hoped that applicants will represent the rich diversity of Nottinghamshire’s communities. The Panel is expected to meet four times a year.
An annual allowance of £1,500 will be available alongside re-imbursement of mileage or public transport costs. The successful candidate will be subject to the Force Vetting Procedure.
