Victims of Crime Conference

What future for victims of crime in Nottinghamshire?

8 July 2014
ICCA, 99 Hucknall Road, Nottingham NG5 1QZ

Victims’ support services are currently commissioned nationally by the Ministry of Justice.  From October 2014, the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping will commission the majority of emotional and practical support services for victims of crime, including restorative justice.

Aim : the purpose of the conference was to share the findings of recent research into victims’ views and to consult with stakeholders on Paddy’s draft Victims’ Strategy and his outline plans for future service delivery.

Who attended : providers of victims’ support and restorative justice services, chairs and board members of community safety partnerships and the local criminal justice board, managers from criminal justice and other organisations with an interest in victims’ services.  Managers of domestic violence support services were welcome to attend, however, as we had already held a domestic violence conference, the focus of the day was on the support services for other victims of crime.
