Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping will team up with Chris Leslie, MP for Nottingham East, on a bike ride to raise awareness of cycle safety.
The two will set off from the Park and Ride site at Colwick Racecourse at 2.00pm, on Friday 1 March riding bicycles kindly loaned by Nottingham City Council.
Paddy Tipping said that there were numerous benefits to cycling from health and fitness to a reduction in environmental impact, but stressed that it was important that people paid attention to safety issues.
“It’s important that cyclists are visible,” he said, “And it is always sensible to wear a safety helmet in case you fall off, I certainly shall be sporting one!”
