The Central Government Grant for policing has been frozen over the last year despite rises in policing costs due to factors such as inflation.
In order to protect frontline services, the Government expects the local council tax precept for policing to be raised by up to £24 in 2019. This equates to an additional £2 per month for the average Band D household (it could be more than this amount for properties in Band E to H).
