Enquiry Officer Supervisor Karen Kohut and Paddy Tipping
Nottinghamshire's new Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping has donated a wide variety of food to Central Police Station's Food Bank collection point in response to a Christmas appeal.
His gifts of tins and packets joined other groceries and pet food items donated by staff from his office and members of the Central Police Station team.
The aim was to collect as much food as possible to help people who are struggling to put enough food on the table. The team is also busy collecting pet food to ensure animals don't go hungry this Christmas either.
Mr Tipping said: "I'm pleased to be able to contribute to this campaign and am delighted that members of my office were able to donate food as well.
"Police officers are often among the first to come across people affected by food shortages, and sadly, an unexpected bill or redundancy can lead to families going hungry. This leads to stark choices being made between parents skipping their own meals so that their children are catered for, or having to choose between paying rent and eating, or turning on their heating."
