The first Strategic Resources and Performance Meeting, organised as part of a series of governance arrangements by Paddy Tipping, Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, will take place on 21 May, 2013.
Members of Nottinghamshire Police’s Chief Officer Team will be in attendance alongside the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and key executives from the Commissioner’s Office.
The meeting is taking place at Ashfield District Council, Urban Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 8DA, starting at 2.00pm. Members of the public are invited to attend when they will see how police governance works in practise. Future meetings will be held on a monthly basis at different locations around the county.
Commissioner Tipping has laid down a series of plans to help him to monitor force performance and ensure policing is transparent. In addition to the Strategic Resources and Performance meetings, he will hold Community Stakeholder Forums to help him analyse performance progress and identify areas of weakness which need attention.
The Commissioner also holds bi-lateral meetings between himself and the Chief Constable on a weekly basis to consider short-term performance and receive briefings on significant incidents and events.
Mr Tipping said: “The public is my biggest partner in this role and the Governance arrangements we’ve put in place will remove barriers and help people to really look inside the Force and feel confident and reassured that everything is in hand to make Nottinghamshire a safer place to live.”
