Memories and faces from days gone by made Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping’s walkabout with police officers in Hucknall an extra special one.
The Commissioner for Nottinghamshire and former MP for Sherwood said today: ”I spoke to lots of residents I knew from the past, though I didn’t quite know what to make of being mistaken for Lord Sugar!”
Last year crime in Hucknall fell by 20 per cent – a drop which Mr Tipping believes was made possible with the help of the excellent partnership working in the area. “Our police officers do a great job in tackling and reducing crime but by working with local partnerships and volunteers they are able to achieve so much more,” he said.
“Hucknall is a good place to live, and working together in this way can further improve it. Residents now want to see a stronger focus on speeding and road safety – and, again, I am sure that the town’s partnerships will have a valuable role to play in making the roads safer roads for everyone.”
