L-R: Paddy Tipping, Lisa Gilmour & Bernard Rix
Paddy Tipping, Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, has been awarded the national transparency quality mark by Bernard Rix, Chief Executive of CoPaCC, in recognition of the comprehensive information available on his website.
CoPaCC is an independent national body set up to monitor police governance through the comparison of Police and Crime Commissioners.
Mr Rix presented a certificate to the Commissioner and his Office Manager Lisa Gilmour.
After the presentation, Paddy Tipping said: “Websites offer an excellent opportunity to increase the amount of information easily accessible to the public and I welcome that. I think it’s important that as a public office we are completely open and transparent so that people access information and hold us to account.
“I am delighted that my website has lived up to the high standards expected by CoPaCC and pleased to see this well-deserved recognition for everyone here who has worked so hard to exceed those standards.”
Bernard Rix said: "I am delighted to present this Quality Mark to Paddy Tipping, the Nottinghamshire PCC, whose website presents key information in an accessible and timely manner. In CoPaCC's 2015 national assessment, Nottinghamshire were one of only 24 (out of 41) PCCs' offices that consistently demonstrated that they are transparent in what they do. I congratulate them on their good work.”
