Nottinghamshire PCC advertises for new Chief Constable
Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping today launched the recruitment process to appoint an inspirational new leader for Nottinghamshire Police.
The position is currently being advertised in print and online media and following a rigorous selection process it is anticipated a new Chief Constable will be in position by 1 April 2017.
The recruitment campaign follows the departure of Chief Constable Chris Eyre in June who is taking up a new position as Chief Constable, Sovereign Base Area Police Cyprus.
The force is currently being led by Temporary Chief Constable Sue Fish until 31 March 2017 while Assistant Chief Constable Simon Torr has taken over responsibilities as Deputy Chief Constable.
Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping said: “We are looking for a forward-thinking, passionate and focused leader with the drive and ambition to realise our safety goals. Nottinghamshire is a thriving county and its Chief Constable needs to match this with strength and fortitude.
“Crime in Nottinghamshire is falling faster than almost anywhere else in the UK and Nottinghamshire Police is the fastest improving police force in England and Wales.
“Charting a course that makes the most of these advances is an exciting leadership opportunity for anyone involved in policing. There is no doubt that Nottinghamshire is a safer place to live and work than it was in the past but the focus is firmly on making it even safer.”
The deadline for applications is at noon on 23 September 2016, while candidates will be shortlisted on September 30. Interviews will take place on November 10 and 11.
