Statement from Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping in response to the National Audit Office (NAO) 'Financial sustainability of police forces in England and Wales 2018' report
“The National Audit Office report reinforces what I’ve been saying for some time, that the grant to Police Forces from the Home Office has fallen by 30% since 2010. As a consequence, Nottinghamshire Police, like all Police Forces, has had to make tough choices about priorities.
“Importantly, the report says that the current way of allocating resources to police forces is not fit for purpose and needs to change.
“I welcome this report because it is an incentive for the Home Office to give a fairer deal to all police forces, including Nottinghamshire.”
