Commissioner Henry checks in with police inspector on tackling shop thefts

29 February 2024

Cracking down on antisocial behaviour is among the top priorities for the neighbourhood policing team in Bulwell.

City North Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Paul Ferguson recently met with Nottinghamshire Policing and Crime Commissioner Caroline Henry to discuss how his team is also reducing ‘acquisitive crime’ which includes burglary and shop thefts.

Other priorities include locking up drug dealers and getting drugs off the streets across the City North area which includes Bulwell, Sherwood and Top Valley.

As an elected representative, a key part of Commissioner Henry’s role is to hold Nottinghamshire Police to account to ensure the public is getting the best possible policing service and local priorities are being addressed.

Every three months sees a renewing of the three priorities for neighbourhood policing teams across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

The meeting to discuss these priorities is held every three months and is attended by local Neighbourhood Development Officers, Nottinghamshire Police, Nottingham City Council’s Antisocial Behaviour Principal Officer, also the Community Protection Team, to look at data provided by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire.

Watch the video below to hear from Commissioner Henry and Inspector Ferguson during the recent visit to Bulwell Police Station.
