Commissioner welcomes drop in crime in Nottinghamshire
Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden has welcomed a reduction in overall crime in Nottinghamshire, and other key offences including public disorder and shop theft.
The statistics were revealed recently by the Office for National Statistics for the 12 months to March 2025.
They also showed a drop in theft from a person in Nottinghamshire, compared to a 15% rise in the issue nationally.
PCC Godden paid tribute to the work of police and partners in tackling the issues and vowed to keep up the scrutiny and support of the force to drive continued improvements, while continuing to work with partners on delivering his police and crime plan vision of a Safer Nottinghamshire For All.
He said: “The reductions in crime should give our communities the trust and confidence that Nottinghamshire is becoming a safer place to live, work and visit.
“Not only are the numbers reducing on various different crime types, but great partnership working is also helping to ensure we are better than the national average on preventing other key offences.”
