As part of an ongoing commitment to tackle the root causes of criminality, the Commissioner provides direct funding to a variety of community-based and public-facing organisations which deliver support to vulnerable people who find themselves at risk of offending or those who fall victim to crime.
Currently, we provide £1.7m funding to the city-based Nottingham Crime and Drugs Partnership and a further £1.3m in support of community safety
Additionally, the Commissioner provides grant support to third sector community organisations which share the objectives set out in the Police and Crime Plan via the Community Safety Fund. This funding is ring fenced for grassroots community safety projects which meet core objectives including enhancing support for victims, increasing trust and understanding between BME communities and the police, reducing anti-social behaviour, addressing the mental health needs of offenders and providing diversionary activity for people at risk of offending. initiatives in Nottinghamshire, most of which goes through the Safer Nottinghamshire Board. Some of this funding is invested into local community safety partnerships to reduce the risk of harm within the county.

Our community safety funding for 2014-15 is now fully allocated and there is no further funding available. Details about any future funding opportunities in 2015-2016 will be available on this website from January 2015.
