Policy and Scrutiny Officer

POST: Policy and Scrutiny Officer (x 3)
BASED: Nottinghamshire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner
 HOURS: Full-Time - 37 hours
 SALARY: £31,725 - £33,618

We are now recruiting three Policy and Scrutiny Officers to provide support on policy development, implementation and scrutiny in line with the priorities and ambitions of the Make Notts Safe Plan.  You will work within a Performance and Scrutiny Team to develop subject matter knowledge and expertise and help drive continuous improvement in one of three thematic areas: Policing; Victims and Vulnerability; Criminal Justice and Early Intervention.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual with knowledge and experience of providing scrutiny and evidence-led policy advice, particularly within a multi-agency setting.   Above all else, you will be committed to working as part of a team to make meaningful change for the people of Nottinghamshire - assessing what is working well, driving continuous improvement in policing, crime reduction and victim support services across Nottinghamshire and exploring new opportunities that will help our Office to Make Notts Safe.

Through building positive, collaborative relationships internally and externally, with police colleagues, partners and the public of Nottinghamshire, you will contribute to transformation and ensure the delivery of excellent services that provide effective safeguarding, and which are value for money.

We want our workforce to represent the communities we serve, creating a culture where everyone feels safe and is welcomed, and we committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Interested applicants should apply for one Policy and Scrutiny Officer role only and candidates will be asked at interview about portfolio preference. These roles are open to those who might wish to work on a full or part time basis (part-tine is minimum 23 hours per week) with working hours preferences to be discussed at interview.

In return, working in our Office offers professional satisfaction as well as the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of other people.
